In this piece the church spires of St. Mary's Cathedral in Galveston, Texas lie in the foreground as the more modern architecture of the only sky scraper on the island sits behind it. The sky was a stark blue as the colors of the spires stood out from the white backdrop of the tall modern building. The contrast between the two types of architecture is what amazed me, showing the history of Galveston Island in one artistic piece. The Gothic architectural style amid the post modern. Gentle bristle brush strokes link the two images much like the wind blowing between the two buildings.
