Summer brings hot weather, stark blue skies and large clouds over the Gulf of Mexico. This is a culmination of blended styles which gives the beach scene a surreal look to it. On the horizon, maybe a thunder shower in the distance, but we are safe on shore looking out over the Gulf. My signature style with large bristle brush strokes across the sky and clouds while just grazing the horizon drawing the eye to the center of the piece.

I like creating artwork from real life as well as documenting travel locations under varying lighting conditions which guide my artistic mind. You will see it in my artwork, real locations, but changed by my feelings at the time, sometimes transforming the real, to the surreal but very recognizable.
