Description
Earlier in the spring, Galveston had a parade of masted schooners and ships sail in front of the Galveston seawall then later sailed into port. Having the opportunity to see these majestic ships sail just offshore set me to create this artwork. This is actually the second version of this piece, which is more dark and colorful. I wanted to create something different, more dark as if the ship is sailing into a storm with the sun shining through parts of the clouds. I left it mostly up to the interpretation of the viewer. For some reason I can almost feel the presence of an albatross flying nearby, out of view, but that is the feeling I get when I view this piece. How does this piece make you feel?
