Description
Festive Masks of the Dead, original artwork by GW Mireles. Representing Mexico’s ‘Dia de los Muertos’ (Day of the Dead), these masks were on display in the port of Cozumel, Mexico and I could not resist creating this piece of art. 😲💀🤖😃

During your cruise and when in port, there are many tourist shops containing anything from t-shirts, trinkets to diamonds and watches, but the real treat is finding cultural pieces from the country you are visiting. 😎👍🇲🇽😁

This piece of art captures the aura of the traditional clay skulls of Mexico which are hand painted by artisans for their traditional holiday. The beauty of the masks are part of the journey and tradition of celebrating and remembering those friends and relatives who have passed on. 😢🤔😇😇😇😇
